Welcome to the website of Iron Workers Local No.402. We are located in West Palm Beach, Florida. Whether you are a member or simply wish to join our prestigious apprenticeship program, this site should answer all the questions you may have, while keeping you updated on news and current events.

The iron-workers of Local Union 402 are a safe, well-trained workforce, with an extremely high skill level. these proud and dedicated men and women are often found clambering around on narrow beams at mind blowing heights. The men and women who perform these kinds of tasks are labeled as the structural iron-worker. Other classifications include the rodman and the ornamental iron-worker. The four year apprenticeship training program at Local Union 402 gives our members the opportunity to master the skills it takes to become journeymen iron-workers in this glamorous steel industry.

Join our Apprenticeship Program

Through apprenticeship programs, new entrants to the industry receive supervised training on the job and related theoretical instruction under the tutelage of master craft workers who are members of the building trades unions. Apprentices are employed and receive wages while training on-the-job, and the cost of the related instruction is paid for by the sponsoring JATC. This "earn while you learn" feature of apprenticeship makes it affordable for all.
